I also have this tutorial in a video version if you’d like to see me decorate the glass jar.
However, here’s the written tutorial below:
Instructions
Cut a small piece of a sponge and dip the sponge into the yellow craft paint. Dab the sponge with a light motion on the glass jar until you create this textured effect.
Cover the entire jar with the yellow paint by lightly dabbing the sponge on all sides. Allow the paint to dry before you proceed to the next steps.
If you want to complete your project in one sitting, use a hair dryer to speed up the process.
You can give the glass jar a few coats of paint if you want a better finish but for this project, 1 was enough.
Grab your hot glue gun or any strong clear glue and apply a thin line of glue down the side of the jar.
Then, cut a piece of your trim that measures the length of this side of the jar and glue.
Now turn the jar to the front and apply another line of glue. Go ahead and glue the rest of the trim to all sides of the jar.
Next, we’ll add another cute detail that will make this glass jar decoration pop.
I found these cute orange fabric flowers at my local craft store and I think it works perfectly for this project!
Apply a small amount of glue to the back of the flower and paste it onto the glass jar between the glued-on trim.
And that’s it. You’ve now transformed a plain glass jar into something beautiful and unique!
These jars look great on a shelf or a desk. You can use it to store small trinkets or simply use it as a decorative piece.
This project was my favorite of the week so far.
I had an incredible time decorating this glass jar, and I can’t wait to try my hand at decorating more jars and bottles in the future!
