How To Sew A Mini Corner Bookmark

These mini corner bookmarks are so adorable! You’ll want to sew a bunch of them.

Another great thing about these mini corner bookmarks is that you can sew them using scrap fabric.
It only requires a tiny amount of fabric, so this is the perfect way to make something special from all those scraps.
You could also create tons of different color combinations when making these bookmarks. There are so many endless options, and I’m certain they will all look amazing.

DIY Mini Corner Bookmark
Supplies

- 3 x Patterned Fabric Squares – 6 cm x 6 cm (2,36″ x 2,36″)
- Pin/Sewing Clip
- Sewing Machine

Instructions

Step 1: Take your first fabric piece and fold it into this triangle shape. Set this aside for now.
Step 2: Take your second fabric piece and place the first folded piece on top of it, with the folded edge facing inward. Right sides should be facing in.
Step 3: Place your last fabric square face down on top of that.
Step 4: Mark one corner as a reminder to leave it open when sewing.
Step 5: Head to the machine and sew the pieces using a 0.3cm/0.5cm seam.

Step 6: Once your piece is sewn, snip off the corners.
Step 7: Open the unstitched section and pull the right side of the fabric through the opening.
Step 8: Next, open out the corners using your finger or a pen. Then fold the raw seam of the opening in and head to the machine to add a topstitch to the bookmark.

It fits perfectly on the edge of any book. You can place it on a single page or multiple pages – whichever works best for you!
I’ve already sewn 3 more of these mini corner bookmarks, and they all turned out perfect. In fact, you can make this bookmark in any size and with any scrap fabric you have!

This is definitely a quick and easy sewing project that will only take 5 minutes or so. You can make so many of these tiny corner bookmarks in just a couple of minutes, which is quite exciting, to be honest.
I love every single one of them, and I do plan to make a few more and gift them to fellow book lovers.
