How To Make A Decorative Confetti Glass Bottle
Would you like to upcycle and add a cute little decoration to your desk or shelf? Well, I got a quick and easy idea that I think you will love.
I’m an avid diamond painter and after every diamond painting session, there’s usually a ton of leftover drills.
If you’re also familiar with diamond painting, then this could be an awesome way to reuse the drills rather than just throw them away.
However, if you’ve never heard of diamond painting before, no worries because you could do something similar with just an adjustment or two.
Here’s what you need for this idea:
- A glass bottle or jar
- Drills, beads, or any colorful item fill the bottle
Making this decoration is pretty straightforward and simple. You’ll just be filling the bottle or jar with your decorative item. Yup, that’s pretty much all you have to do!
But don’t leave just yet because, in this guide, you’ll find a few awesome alternatives you can make along with this one.
Without taking up too much of your time, let’s just get straight to the tutorial.

Steps For Making This Decorative Confetti Glass Bottle
Step 1. Gather your supplies
We’ll first begin by grabbing our supplies.
If at this point you’d like to fill your bottle with something other than drills or beads, go ahead and get your stuff together.
For those that aren’t sure what to fill their bottle with, here are a few ideas:
- Small or large round beads
- Sequins
- Marbles
- Glitter
- Gems
- Paper stars
- Paper hearts
- Seashells
I highly recommend having at least 3-4 colors of the specific item if you want a cool mixed effect or a beautiful layered look.
Use a color palette generator to come up with different color combinations so you can get a good idea of which colors will look good together.
Or you could pick colors that will coordinate with your current color scheme or decor style.
For this tutorial, I’ll be using the leftover drills that I already have.
You’ll also want to pick a small or large glass jar.
I have this adorable milk bottle jar from a banana coconut milk drink I had the other day.
I didn’t feel like throwing it away so this was a cool way to repurpose it.
Step 2. Begin filling the jar
Now it’s time to fill the jar.
You can use a funnel that will make it easier to pour the beads into the jar without making a mess or you can use a piece of paper.
This is where it gets a little exciting.
Since my diamond painting beads were already mixed together, I had no choice but to just fill the bottle with a mixture of the beads which still creates a nice confetti style.
For a pretty layered look of different colors, you’ll want to start filling the jar with your first color and stop until you reach your desired height.
Then continue adding the next colors until you read the top of the bottle.
This is optional but you could see what works best.
Step 3. Time to display
If your jar or bottle has a lid, you can go ahead and seal the bottle.
Place this small and cute decoration anywhere in your room or home.
Be sure it’s displayed in a place where it’s out of reach for kids or pets otherwise, it will be a huge headache to clean this up.
I find this decorative item looks best placed on a desk or shelf but feel free to place it anywhere you like!
Other Ways To Fill A Glass Jar
Fake flowers – For a pretty, decorative aesthetic piece, you can fill the jar with fake flowers. You can also take it one step further by choosing flowers in the same colors.
Terrarium – If you don’t have a green thumb or if you’re not keen on maintaining a real live terrarium, this is an awesome way to have some greenery in your space. Faux terrariums will be a wonderful addition to your room. You can use a variety of artificial plants to achieve the look. Begin by filling the jar will a layer of soil and then arrange the artificial plants in the jar. To make it appear more natural, place a few small stones and other items like sea shells for a more creative look.
Sweets/Food – Another practical and useful way to fill a glass jar is with sweets or food items like lentils, beans, pasta, rice, and nuts which appear aesthetically pleasing compared to using the original packaging.
Final Thoughts
As you can see, making this decorative confetti glass bottle really doesn’t require much effort or skills and it’s a fun way to add something simple and cute to your space.
You can also use this idea to fill pretty glass bottles with beads, paper stars, or seashells.
This is a great way to personalize your space without spending money and I really do hope you found this idea useful and interesting.
