Making my room decor look good is incredibly important to me. I spend most of my time in my room so I do want to create a space that I love being in.

This is why I’ve searched for neat little hacks that have a great impact on the way a room looks.

One area that usually catches a lot of attention is the nightstand.

Having a good-looking nightstand is key but decorating it is even more important.

There are a few best things that looks good on a nightstand and these include a fancy lampshade or clock accompanied by a crystal rock, candles, a pot plant, and a few other items like a diffuser or gold ornaments. To personalize your nightstand further, adding a frame with your favorite artwork or photos is always recommended.

Now you don’t need to add all of these items though they can make a wonderful display. Depending on your space, you can pick a few of these items and they’ll surely look good.

For a complete list of items to add to your nightstand, here’s the best you can choose from:

Decor Items That Look Good On A Nightstand

1. A Lampshade

Lampshade For Nightstand Decor

Every nightstand must have a good lampshade and if the rest of your decor is simple, you can splurge on your lampshade.

Whether you like a simple or extravagant lampshade, pick the one that you find will make your nightstand look better.

However, if you want to add other items as well, you might want to go for a smaller lamp to fit the rest of the stuff otherwise it may look too cluttered.

2. Stack of Books

If you love reading at night, grab a few books you plan to read next and stack them on the nightstand.

This will add to the decor but even if you’re not a big reader, you can still place any book if you just want to add something simple anyway.

The great thing about this idea is that you could always place a small ornament on top of these books for an extra feature and in general, this looks really good on a nightstand.

3. Himalayan Crystal Salt Lamp

These salt lamps are absolutely gorgeous and they’re sure to make your room decor look fantastic.

If you’re looking to add just one accessory out of all these, I would highly recommend going for this option.

It’s pretty, unique, and it can add a calming and positive vibe to your room.

4. Candles

Having one or two candles on your nightstand still remains one of the best ways to decorate a nightstand.

It’s even better if you go for a pretty scented candle in these gorgeous jars which you can enjoy both the look of it on your nightstand and the sweet aroma from the lit candle.

5. Diffuser

Try including a small diffuser on your nightstand. This bottle with its sticks will make your decor look good but also make sure the entire room smells amazing.

There are plenty of affordable and charming diffusers that are great for your room so I would suggest picking up a bottle.

This item can also be paired with the book idea by placing the diffuser on top of the stack of books if you don’t have any more space on the nightstand.

Alternatively, you should try getting this aromatherapy diffuser set:

6. Fancy Clock

Adding a small clock in a stylish or fancy design is a common way to make your nightstand look good.

It’s also useful to get one which you can set the alarm for the morning but with this idea, you can also add a few other accessories since it’s so small.

7. Pot Plant

An easy and quick way to brighten your decor would be to place a pot plant on the desk.

This will make a lovely addition to the nightstand and it won’t feel like something is missing.

Add as many pot plants as you like but keep a bit of space for a few other items.

8. Glass Terrarium

Speaking of plants, you can place a beautiful glass terrarium that looks good on a nightstand.

This is a simple yet fantastic decor item that will instantly make everything look so much better.

It’s easy to find many different terrariums but if you’re worried about taking care of them, you can try going for a faux terrarium but in terms of looks, I think a real terrarium or plant has more color and brightness to them.

9. Gold Ornaments

If you really want your nightstand to look good, placing a few gold or silver ornaments will do just that.

Now you don’t really need an actual gold or silver ornament that’s going to probably cost a lot.

There are a few DIY projects that involve using spray paint and painting an object in gold or silver if you’re looking for a really cheap option.

This right here is a fantastic way to make an ordinary item look amazing for next to nothing.

10. Vintage Items

If you have a particular decor style in your room, you can pair it with items in that style.

However, if you still want to incorporate an antique or vintage detail to your room, you should look into picking out vintage items like cameras, ornaments, or boxes.

These are small details that can really help your overall decor.

It’s just something nice to look at and if you already don’t have anything much to decorate the nightstand, then go for this option.

11. Gem Boxes

Place a pretty box that’s covered with jewels or crystals and you can store your most-used jewelry pieces in here.

Or you could use this box to keep tissues rather than using the typical cardboard box that it comes with. This will add to your decor in a great way and make the space look better.

Conclusion

Decorating these small places in your home is always an interesting task and one which you can find loads of pleasure in doing so.

As in this case, there are so many different items to put that looks good on a nightstand. Whichever option you go for, it will definitely do its job.

However, just remember to not add too many items to your nightstand either. Less is more!

ut as long as you don’t make it look cluttered or messy with too many items, you should be fine.
