Life Hacks You Can Actually Use
1. Make A Scarf Hanger Using Shower Curtain Rings
via everydaydishes
All you need for this easy life hack is an old hanger and about 4 – 8 shower curtain rings to create the perfect scarf hanger.
2. Secure Carpets With Velcro Strips
via wrappedinrust
I might be a bit OCD but whenever I notice a carpet that has folded over on the edges or shifted out of place, I get this almost uncontrollable urge to fix it. Luckily, that’s not a problem for the carpets in my lounge anymore.
Just like the image above, I cut out small thin pieces of Velcro and used them to secure all four corners of my carpet.
3. Stack Your Pans Using This Rack
via listotic
Annoyed with a lack of space for your pans? Need a quick fix that doesn’t require building anything?
No problem, purchase this rack for a few bucks and use it as the perfect rack to stack your pans.
4. Use ToothPaste To Easily Clean Off Water Marks
via charlesandhudson
As you’ve probably realized by now, toothpaste isn’t just for teeth! The fluoride in toothpaste works just as well on those old watermarks left on tablets from cups, cans, and mugs.
Grab a cloth, spread some toothpaste over the marked areas, and shine until your surfaces look as good as new.
5. Prevent Paint Spills From Cans Using A Rubber Band
via marthastewart
Paint spills and droplets come with the territory of DIY and crafts which is what led me to this hack.
By simply attaching a rubber band around the center of your paint tin, you can just rub off excess paint when scooping up your paintbrush without causing a mess or any wastage!
6. Use Lego Figurines To Hold Cables
via popsugar
I don’t have any Legos at home but I certainly do have figurines from my favorite manga and they work just as fine.
Just slide the bridge of any cable between the space of your figurines ‘ hands! It’s as simple as that!
7. Keep Brown Sugar Moist With Marshmallows
via realsimple
Ordinarily, brown sugar is healthier and better than regular old white sugar but it doesn’t come without its fair share of downfalls.
Brown sugar dries and clumps up when left untouched for some time.
A simple remedy to this problem is to pop a few marshmallows into your bag of brown sugar and it will keep it moist and loose for as long as you need.
8. Cut Onions Using A Potato Peeler
If you don’t have a food processor and want to finely cut onions without having to ball your eyes out, don’t waste your time with a knife, use a potato peeler!
It works better than any knife does and without the fountain of tears that usually accompanies the daily onion peel. I truly don’t know why I couldn’t have thought about that myself.
Love the hints, knew numbers 2 & 5,but, really love the toothpaste one. Well done!
