Hands up if your small laundry area drives you a little crazy at times? One thing is for sure, it definitely drives me crazy! Luckily for you and I, there are so many fantastic ideas and hacks that can help us make the most out of a small laundry area. To give you a little idea, I’m talking about installing cheap shelves, making use of wall spaces, and much, much more that will surely help you solve those problems as much as it helped me!
Let’s get on with it then…
1. HANGING BASKETS
If I had to say which item creates the most mess and disorganization, it would be all the supplies. A great way to organize and ensure that everything stays in one place is to make use of that door space! Yup, it works really well. Paint the door in chalk paint and install cheap hanging baskets as shown above. This way it helps store away all the bulky supplies to avoid that messy pileup of supplies in the room.
Martha gives us a fantastic tip to help stay a little more organized by installing a bath-towel holder under a shelf to neatly hang shirts!
3. WIRE SHELVES
Another great tip is to use wire shelves since they are waterproof and perfect for drying clothing items. It also provides more space to store other items on each shelf making a small room easily accessible and organized.
4. DIY DRYING RACK
Good looking drying racks can get quite pricey but thanks to Centsational Girl, she solves that problem for us! Head over to her site to find out a detailed tutorial that shows you how to make this fantastic drying rack that can go up on one of the walls.
5. UNUSED CORNERS
Simply by adding tiny white shelves in unused corners can easily clear up some space and it’s also very pleasing to the eye.
Like shown above, a small bookshelf is the perfect place to store sorting baskets and supplies. It’s clean, looks great and is definitely useful for creating more space or preventing the room from looking messy.
7. IRONING BOARD
How clever is this?! Simply by installing a hidden wall storage for an ironing board, it instantly creates more space in the room and you can easily stow away the board without any hassle!
