Winter is my favorite season of the year. Sure, it gets pretty cold and you can’t go out as often but that works to our advantage because we can spend that extra free time on hobbies and crafts.

Most of my old subscribers and readers know that I spend a huge chunk of my day searching for cool craft ideas.

This past weekend, I was browsing the internet looking up ideas for unique, sentimental and sweet gifts for the important people in my life and I realized that a snow globe would be an amazing gift idea.

As always, I pinpointed the best DIY snow globes for you to try as soon as you can.

Imagine having a beautiful penguin-themed snowglobe on your desk at all times that also serves as a lamp and feature piece. Now stop imagining because that’s exactly what we have for you with this DIY.

I absolutely love the light used in this snow globe, it adds such a warmth to the entire design.

When it comes to making a house into a home, you can never go wrong with incorporating something sentimental like family photos.

Unfortunately, my family doesn’t seem to have many pics of me as a baby (how unfair) but there is a handful at my disposal and I plan on using them asap to make this family portrait snow globe.

If you’re thinking about gifting this to your parents or spouse, trust me, it’s going to be well received.

3. Vintage Jar Snow Globe

I can already tell you that my brother would totally dig this snow globe. Granted, you may have to hit the toy store to find one of these vans/cars but the finished result is worth the effort.

I can’t believe I’m about to say this but I actually haven’t watched Frozen as yet. I know, I know, it’s amazing and the reviews are phenomenal but I’ve been behind for some reason.

After doing some research, I found out that Olaf is a beloved character for most kids which is why I really wanted to feature this snow globe in my collection.

Oh, and for those of you who need to get this Olaf figurine, the entire frozen set is available on Amazon for about 20 bucks.

I’m not sure why I didn’t think of repurposing an old light bulb as a snow globe but I love the idea.

Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without a tree and if you’re having a hard time getting one, maybe a few of these little ones isn’t such a bad substitute.

To be honest, I’d go so far as to gift them to all my visitors during the festive season.

6. DIY Succulent Snow Globes

I’ll be honest and confess that this year alone, I’ve bought and (sadly) killed at least 3 different succulents.

I didn’t want to resort to using artificial plants but for this snow globe, it’s exactly what we need.

Don’t they make a wonderful addition to any office desk setup?

7. DIY Superhero Snow Globe Collection

You didn’t think I’d make a list of snow globe ideas and leave out all you awesome nerds (I’m part of the gang), now did you?

With the release of Captain Marvel and Wonder woman 2, I am absolutely excited to make a few of these for the little ones in my family (I lie, I want to make them for myself lol).

For bigger figurines, you could use normal sized mason jars but be warned, it can get quite heavy.

I know we’re quite far away from Christmas 2019 but these snow globes were just too good to ignore. Just look at how eye-catching and beautiful this glittery Christmas tree snow globe is!

As you can tell, this tutorial repurposed a mason jar (much like I mentioned above for the superhero snow globe).

You could honestly make a good looking snow globe with old stuff from your house and not spend a cent. It’s just so cool.

9. DIY Fun Novelty Snow Globes

Awwsam came up with this really cute and colorful idea of crafting clay into items like donuts and pineapples for snow globes.

It was too good and too quirky for anyone to ignore so I had to share it with you. I am seriously thinking of hosting a small crafts class for my nieces and nephews and have them make some of these snow globes.

10. DIY Anthropologie Christmas Tree Snow Globe

Just because you’re on a budget doesn’t mean you can’t have some of the exclusive and elegant items from Anthropologie.

This snow globe is pretty much close to perfect but I would go one step further by adding thin string lights into this globe for a magical glow effect.
